I could never ever do this book justice with my review. The Enforcer is definitely the best I've read this year, maybe the best in years. I don't know when I have ever been so hung over. I'm devastated that I reached the end of the novel. I'd give a great deal to be able to unread it and read it for the first time again, and I will absolutely be rereading this story. Those pitiful and strong Moretti boys totally owned my heart while I devoured the pages, and they still own it.

Children born to mistresses of made men are considered lower than dirt. After the death of their mother, Nova and Tino fall under the care of their big brother Romeo. Life isn't wonderful, but the three of them are managing to scrape by and maintain a loving home. Everything changes when their father learns that Nova is a genius. Fourteen-year-old Nova becomes their father's yes-man because he uses twelve-year-old Tino as his whipping boy in order to make Nova toe the line.

Tino is the sweetest, most beautiful person. He tries to always please others and make them feel good about themselves despite the horrible reality of much of his life. He is physically, emotionally and sexually abused. He's forced to deal and murder. Despite all of this, he never looses his loving nature.

This story is running over with feelings. It has loads of sadness topped with epically endearing moments. There's plenty of humor and cuteness, and of course it has the sexy and romantic covered. The Enforcer has it all. Readers get to know the boys and the men. Oh, my heart, this truly, truly is a must read.

Also, I think the author really did her homework on the ins and outs of organized crime. It really makes everything more interesting.
