Misfits

Misfits - Garrett Leigh I am extremely surprised by how deeply I got into this story. I read a lot and often find great books, but I was totally absorbed by this one. It has all the best qualities combined. The characters and situations are super realistic; yet, the hotness factor is sizzling. What makes that an even bigger deal is that it's a ménage à. I love them, don't get me wrong, but they're usually not so believable. These three men are so different in size, stature, background, etc, but they all have great hearts. The unperfectness of the roles makes them more endearing. Each man is so multidimensional instead of fitting a certain sexy book mold. Sometimes when an author tries to make things more convincing, the story looses the fantasy for which readers are searching. That didn't happen here. I know I'm going on and on about it, but I'm so pleased. It's a real and rare talent in my opinion.

Tom and Cass have been together for years and are in love, but both put so much effort into their business that much like two ships passing in the night, they barely lay eyes on each other. They have always had an open relationship. Both have other 'booty calls' but only love each other."It's not cheating, Jake. We choose to live this way. It might not make sense to you, but it works for us."
This works for them for the most part except it doesn't fix the loneliness of not having the one they love near.

Jake is a wealth of untapped talent, but he tends to be harder on himself than necessary."And what was it? The cure, I mean."
"Learn something. Read a book. Explore someone. Anger is just a hole where your life could be."

These men slowly work their way into each other's lives and the reader's heart. And everything goes from there. They have several outside issues causing strife and drama, and this is all new to them. Everything isn't perfect, but the ride is a very touching one. If you're just in the mood for a sexy fluff piece, I suggest you try something else, but I absolutely recommend this book for those wanting a book that is more.
